Add a limit to an item

In BriteLines, once you add an item to a risk type, you can add a limit to its coverage calculations.

To add a limit to an item:

  1. In the BriteCore menu, select Lines.
  2. In the Lines of Business list, select the applicable line of business.
  3. On the Line Overview screen, in the Products menu, navigate to and select the applicable product.
  4. On the Product Overview screen, in the Risk Types section, select the applicable risk type.
  5. In the Items section, in the Items list, navigate to and select the item you want to add a limit to.
  6. On the Edit Item screen, under Coverage calculations, select Add Limit.
  7. In the Create Limit dialog box, complete the following steps:
    1. In the Label box, type the label of the limit.

      Note: The limit Reference Name will automatically populate based on the Label, but you can change it if you want.

    2. In the Reference Name box, type the reference name of the limit.
    3. Under Type, select either Per Occurrence Limit, Per Risk Limit, or Policy Aggregate Limit.
    4. Select Create Limit.
  8. Under Limits, in the Calculation box, type a calculation.
  9. Select anywhere outside of the Calculation box to save the calculation.
  10. Select Save Changes.

You have successfully added a limit.
