Add and remove parties from the Damaged Properties screen

In addition to the Parties screen of the claim file, you can add and remove parties in the Details, Vehicles, Damaged Properties, and Injuries screens. In the Damaged Properties screen, you can add and remove the owner(s) of damaged properties. The party can be added on the Damaged Properties screen or on the Damaged Property Details screen.

To add an owner on the Damaged Properties screen:

  1. Select + Add Owner in the Damaged Properties table. A menu of possible owners will open.
Figure 1: The + Add Owner button on the Damaged Properties screen.
  2. If the name of the owner doesn’t appear in the menu, select Add New Party, and continue to step 3. If the name of the owner appears in the menu, select the correct name. The name will populate in the Owner column.
  3. See Add contact as a new party – Individual or Add contact as a new party – Organization to complete the steps in adding a new party.

To add an owner on the Damaged Properties Details screen:

  1. Select the property link in the Damaged Properties table. The Damaged Properties Details screen will open.
Figure 2: The + Add Owner button on the Damaged Properties Details screen.
  2. In the Damaged Property Information table, select the + Add Owner button. A menu of possible owners will open.

Note: The submenu of possible parties will display ten names at a time. If more than ten exist, you can scroll to view additional parties or you can use the Search box to search for a party and narrow the generated results.

  3. If the name of the owner doesn’t appear in the menu, select Add New Party, and continue to step 4. If the name of the owner appears in the menu, select the correct name. The name will populate in the Owner column.
  4. See Add contact as a new party – Individual or Add contact as a new party – Organization to complete the steps in adding a new party.

The party will now have the Owner role in the Parties tab.

To remove an owner from the Damaged Properties or Damaged Properties Details screens:

  1. Select the X next to the name of the property owner you’re removing. A Delete Party Relation pop-up window will open asking:

Are you sure you want to remove <Party Name> from the role of Owner?

  2. Select Yes to remove the party. If you select Cancel, you will return to the Damaged Properties or Damaged Property Details screen without removing the party.

Usage considerations

When you remove the party, the + Add Owner button will appear again. In the Parties tab, the role Owner will be removed from the party. If the party has no other role, it will appear in the Vendors/Other section of the Parties screen.

If the party is already associated with an exposure as an owner, you won’t be able to remove the party as the owner of the damaged property.
