Add and remove parties from the Injuries screen

In addition to the Parties screen of a claim file, you can add and remove parties in the Details, Vehicles, Damaged Properties, and Injuries screens. In the Injuries screen, you can add injured parties. You can add and remove hospital/medical facilities and medical professionals on the Injury Details screen.

Add parties

To add an injured party:

  1. Select the + Add Injury button.

  2. In the Add Injury dialog box, select the injured party from the Injured Party dropdown list.
  3. Complete the remaining fields specific to the type of sustained injury.
  4. Select Save.

To add a medical facility:

  1. Select the injured party you are adding the medical facility to. The Injury Details screen will open.
  2. Navigate to the Treatment table.

  3. Select + Add Hospital/Medical Facility. A menu will open with a list of medical facilities listed on the Parties screen but not yet associated with the injury record.
  4. If the name of the hospital/medical facility doesn’t appear in the menu, select Add New Party, and continue to step 5. If the name of the hospital/medical facility appears in the menu, select it and the name will populate in the Hospital/Medical Facility section.
  5. See Add contact as a new party – Organization. Complete the steps to add a new party.

To add a medical professional:

  1. Select the injured party you are adding the medical professional to.  The Injury Details screen will open.
  2. Navigate to the Treatment table.
  3. Select + Add Medical Professional (See Figure 2). A menu will open with a list of medical professionals listed on the Parties screen but not yet associated with the injury record.

    Note: The submenu of possible parties will display ten names at a time. If more than ten exist, you can scroll to view additional parties or you can use the Search box to search for a party and narrow the generated results.

  4. If the name of the medical professional doesn’t appear in the menu, select Add New Party, and continue to step 5. If the name of the medical professional appears in the menu, select it and the name will populate in the Hospital/Medical Facility section.
  5. See Add contact as a new party – Individual or Add contact as a new party – Organization. Complete the steps to add a new party.

Remove parties

To remove a medical facility:

  1. Select the injured party you are removing the medical facility from. The Injury Details screen will open.
  2. Navigate to the Treatment section.
  3. Select the X next to the medical facility you want to remove. A Delete Hospital/Medical Facility dialog box will open asking:

    Are you sure you want to remove <Party Name> from Hospital/Medical Facility role?

  4. Select Yes to remove the party. If you select Cancel, you will return to the Injury Details screen without removing the party.

To remove a medical professional:

  1. Select the injured party you are removing the medical professional from. The Injury Details screen will open.
  2. Navigate to the Treatment section.
  3. Select the red X next to the medical professional you want to remove. A Delete Medical Professional pop-up window will open asking:

    Are you sure you want to remove <Party Name> from Medical Professional role?

  4. Select Yes to remove the party. If you select Cancel, you will return to the Injury Details screen without removing the party.

Usage considerations

When you remove a medical facility or medical professional from the Injuries screen, it will be removed as an associated party in the Parties screen. The role medical facility or medical professional will be removed and the parties will be moved to the Vendors/Other section if they don’t have any other roles attached.
