Add and remove parties from the Vehicles screen

In addition to the Parties screen, you can add parties in the Details, Vehicles, Injuries, and Damaged Properties screens. In the Vehicles screen, you can add the following parties:

  • Owner(s)
  • Driver(s)
  • Passenger(s)

Add parties

You can add parties in both the Vehicles and Vehicle Details screens. Once a party is added as a driver or passenger of one vehicle involved in the loss, that party can’t be added as a driver or passenger of another vehicle involved in the loss.

Note: In a claim, if you add a party as a driver and then remove that party as a driver, the party is eligible to be added as a passenger of any vehicle involved in the loss.

Usage considerations

When adding an occupant to a vehicle, remember that there can only be one driver per vehicle, and the driver and passenger can only be the driver and passenger of one vehicle.

After removing parties from the Owner, Driver, or Passenger role, you can re-add them. If an owner or occupant is associated with an exposure, they can’t be removed from the vehicle unless the exposure is closed with the reason of Void/Opened in Error. If parties are accidentally associated with a vehicle, and then removed they can be added as a pedestrian.

When you remove a party from the Owner, Driver, or Passenger role, they will continue to appear as a party on the Parties screen. If the party has no other role, it will appear in the Vendors/Other section of the Parties screen.
