With the advanced setting allow-agents-to-make-agency-payments, clients can enable all agents associated with an agency to make payments using the agency’s sweep account, whether or not an agency is listed as an agent’s primary agency.
This setting requires True and False toggle buttons.
By default, allow-agents-to-make-agency-payments is set to False. This means that an agent who lists an agency as the primary agency can use that agency’s sweep account. An agent associated with an agency who doesn’t list the agency as the primary agency can’t use that agency’s sweep account.
For example, an agent is associated and works for two separate agencies, Agency 1 and Agency 2. The agent works primarily for Agency 1, so Agency 1 is listed as the agent’s primary agency. When allow-agents-to-make-agency-payments is set to False, the agent will have access to Agency 1’s sweep account, but won’t have access to Agency 2’s sweep account.
Changing the default
To change the default, navigate to Settings > Advanced and search for allow-agents-to-make-agency-payments. Change the setting to True. When you change the setting to True, all agents associated with an agency will have access to the agency’s sweep account, even if the agency isn’t listed as an agent’s primary agency.
If the same agent from the example above is still associated with Agency 1 and Agency 2, and lists Agency 1 as the primary agency, then when allow-agents-to-make-agency-payments is set to True, the agent has access to Agency 1’s sweep account and Agency 2’s sweep account.
- The allow-agents-to-make-agency-payments advanced setting will only work for agent logins, not agency logins.
- The advanced setting only applies to the Payments module when an agent attempts to make a sweep payment. This advanced setting doesn’t apply to the application process. In the application process, the associated agency’s sweep account will appear in the Billing tab.
