You can use BriteData to build a new report or customize an existing report. The first step requires you to define your report—enter basic information about your report, including the report name, description, category, type, run schedule, custom start date, and export option.
Note: Before you build a report, review BriteData constraints and assumptions.
For contextual help, select the information icons next to any applicable field on the screen.
To access BriteData to build a new report:
- Select Reports in the BriteCore menu, then either:
- Select BriteData from the Reports menu.
- Select Report List from the Reports menu, then select Add Report.
- The Add Report dialog box will display: Would you like to base the new report on an existing report? Select No. You will be directed to BriteData.
- At the top of the 1: Define your Report screen in BriteData, you can lock your report by selecting Lock Report. If locked, select the Unlock Report to unlock it. Once you lock a report, no one can edit it.
Note: You can’t unlock a report once you lock and save the report.
- Type your report name in the Report Name box.
Note: A report can't have special characters in the name. You will get an error to remove special characters before continuing.
- Type a Description.
- Select a Category. If you want to place your report in a new category, add a new category.
Possible categories depend on your implementation, but could include:
- Customized
- Agency
- Audits
- Underwriting
- Billing
- Claims
- Vendors
- Management
- Reinsurance
- Policies
- Premium
- Data Extracts
- Select a Report Type:
- Excel
- CSV
- If you select CSV, you can choose a custom delimiter for the .csv file by entering it in the Custom Delimiter box that appears.
- HTML
- Text
- XML
- Select a report frequency from the Run Report Automatically dropdown list. Options include:
- Manual (Do not run automatically)
- Once a year (Morning of January 1)
- Once a month (Morning of 1st month)
- Once a week (Monday mornings)
- Once a week (Saturday mornings)
- Once a day (Every morning)
- Select a Custom Start Date. This optional field hardcodes a From date into the report.
- Select an export method under Export Options :
- No Export
- Put in Export Queue: This option displays the report in the Report Exports screen (select Export from the Reports menu) for review and processing. You can also choose an export method with this option:
- Select an export method from the Method dropdown list:
- Email
- Type an email address in the Email box.
- Type a filename in the Export Filename box (this is optional and will override the default file name).
- FTP
- Type a host name in the Host box.
- Type your username in the Username box.
- Type your password in the Password box.
- Type the path in the Path box.
- Check TLS-enabled FTP if necessary.
- Check Active FTP if necessary.
- Type a filename in the Export Filename box (this is optional and will override the default file name).
- SFTP (SSH)
- Type a host name in the Host box.
- Type your username in the Username box.
- Type your password in the Password box.
- Type the path in the Path box.
- Type a filename in the Export Filename box (this is optional and will override the default file name).
- Email
- Select an export method from the Method dropdown list:
- Export Automatically: You can skip the export queue on the Report Exports screen by selecting this option to export your report.
- Select an export method from the Method dropdown list:
- Email
- Type an email address in the Email Address box.
- Type a filename in the Export Filename box (this is optional and will override the default file name).
- FTP
- Type a host name in the Host box.
- Type your username in the Username box.
- Type your password in the Password box.
- Type the path in the Path box.
- Check TLS-enabled FTP if necessary.
- Check Active FTP if necessary.
- Type a filename in the Export Filename box (this is optional and will override the default file name).
- SFTP (SSH)
- Type a host name in the Host box.
- Type your username in the Username box.
- Type your password in the Password box.
- Type the path in the Path box.
- Type a filename in the Export Filename box (this is optional and will override the default file name).
- Email
- Select an export method from the Method dropdown list:
- Select BriteData from the Report Runner dropdown list.
- Select Continue to the next step to select your data points.
