Manage quoting suspensions

In BriteCore, administrators can add temporary suspensions on an agent’s or agency’s ability to bind a quote, submit an application, quote specific lines of business, or use straight-through processing. Administrators can also edit existing suspensions and delete suspensions.

Set up Classic Quote suspensions

When establishing suspensions, users must specify the date range that the suspension is in effect. When users attempt to submit quotes during this date range, the system will check the suspensions to determine if the user is allowed to submit the quote. Suspensions can be restricted to the following:

  • A specific agent or agency.
  • A specific ZIP code.
  • A specific LOB.

To set up Classic Quote suspensions:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Modules > Agent Portal > BriteQuote Suspensions.

Note: Although the section is titled BriteQuote Suspensions, suspensions currently apply only to Classic Quote, rather than BriteQuote.

  2. Select Setup BriteQuote Suspensions.

Note: Although the button is labeled Setup BriteQuote Suspensions, suspensions currently apply only to Classic Quote, rather than BriteQuote.

  3. On the BriteQuote Suspensions screen, select Add a Suspension.

Note: Although the screen is titled BriteQuote Suspensions, suspensions currently apply only to Classic Quote, rather than BriteQuote.

  4. In the Suspension Title box, type the name of the suspension you’re adding.
  5. In the Agent/Agency Name box, type the name of the agent or agency that the temporary suspension applies to. As you type the name of the agent or agency, a list of possible matching contacts will appear. Select the correct contact. If the name you type doesn’t match an existing contact, you will need to first add the contact and then apply the suspension. This isn’t a required field, unless you’re applying the quoting suspension; however, if you don’t designate a specific contact, the suspension will apply to all agents or agencies.

Note: Applying the suspension to an agent or agency depends on the advanced setting policy-go-to. If the policy-go-to setting is set to Agents, then the suspension will be applied to agents or a specific agent. If the policy-go-to setting is set to Agency, then the suspension will be applied to agencies or a specific agency.

  6. In the Start Date and End Date boxes, use the date pickers to select the date range for when the suspension dates should be in effect or type the date range for when the suspension dates should be in effect. The date range you select specifies when the suspension is in effect.
  7. For the question What type of suspension is this?, select one of the following options:
    • Suspension of Binding Authority: This suspension can be applied to the entire agent/agency force.
    • Suspension of Application Submission: This suspension can be applied to the entire agent/agency force.
    • Suspension of Quoting: This suspension can be applied to all one agency at a time for all quoting. This suspension can also be applied to one agency at a time for a specific LOB.
    • Suspension of Straight-Through Processing: This suspension can be applied to the entire agent/agency force.

Note: This option will appear only if a URL is added to the straight-through-processing advanced setting.

  8. For the question Do you want to add any restrictions to this suspension?, select one of the following options:
    • No, do not restrict this suspension: If you select this option, no further information is required.
    • Yes, limit to a certain Zip Code: If you select this option, the Zip Code box will appear below. Type the ZIP code of the location the suspension should be applied to.

Note: This option will appear only if Suspension of Binding Authority or Suspension of Application Submission is selected in the preceding question.
