Restrict loss date scope

Claims

Purpose

With the restrict-loss-date-scope advanced setting, you can choose to restrict the loss date to occur within the policy term for non-renewals. When you file a claim, you must enter a loss date with the policy term between the policy effective date and the current date. In the Provider Administrative portal, if a user enters a loss date outside of the policy effective date and current date, a pop-up message will open stating the following:

Loss date is invalid! It should be between effective date and today

If you enter a loss date after the cancelation date of the policy, a pop-up message will open stating the following:

Loss date is invalid! Loss date can’t be greater than cancel date.

If you enter a loss date on a policy that expired without renewal, a pop-up message will open stating the following:

Loss date is invalid! Loss date can’t be greater than policy expiration date!

In the Agent portal, if a user enters a loss date on an expired policy, a pop-up message will open stating the following:

An inforce policy could not be found. Please re-enter a valid policy number.

In the Agent portal, if a user enters a loss date after the current date, a pop-up message will open stating the following:

Loss date is invalid! It should be between effective date and today.

Requirements

This setting requires True and False buttons.

Setting default

By default, the restrict-loss-date-scope advanced setting is set to False, so the loss date isn’t restricted to occurring within the policy term for non-renewals.

Changing the default

To change the default, navigate to Settings > Advanced and search for restrict-loss-date-scope. Change the setting to True so the loss date is restricted to occurring within the policy term for non-renewals.
