Set up Generation 2 BriteCore services new business workflow

Note: The Generation 2 BriteCore Services new business workflow is no longer used with new clients. As such, the documentation on this page is for clients who implemented prior to the availability of the custom new business workflow (early 2017).

Make Print Application Button Visible or Invisible

The Print Application button allows an agent to view the policy application prior to submitting the application. The button can be set to visible or invisible, but it is visible by default. When the button is visible, you can print the application or submit it. When the button is invisible, the only option is to submit the application. After clicking Submit Application the agent will still be able to access the application document.

Separate Rate and Save

Clients can divide the Save & Rate button into two separate buttons in Builder: a Rate button and a Save button. This allows clients to build out a large schedule of properties and save their progress periodically without losing data due to the screen timing out. To enable:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Advanced.
  2. Search for separate_rate_and_save.
  3. Select True.

Furthermore, an additional setting dictates how many properties need to be attached to a policy before the Rate and Save button is separated into two. The default value is 40. If the number of properties is less than the number inputted, the button will remain as one. If the number is greater than or equal to 40, then the buttons will separate into two.

Note: This setting works only if the above setting is enabled.

To enable this setting:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Advanced.
  2. Search for property_threshold.
  3. Select True.

Underwriting Contact

A setting extends the functionality of underwriting questions in Generation 2 BriteCore Services quoting. When enabled, BriteCore displays a Has Underwriting been contacted? (Agent Portal) dropdown and/or Underwriting Contact (Administrative Portal) checkbox. The functionality exists for both the Agent and Administrative Portals as some clients quote business internally in the Administrative Portal only.

Agent portal

When enabled for the Agent Portal, Contact Date and Approved By fields appear for the agent to complete. The Approved By field populates with staff who have the Underwriter role. When the fields are completed by an agent, a note is written on the policy and the underwriter and date appear below the underwriting questions on the policy application.

To enable:

  1. Add the role of Underwriter to applicable staff contacts in BriteCore.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Advanced.
  3. Search for show-underwriting-contact-section.
  4. Select BriteQuote.
  5. Navigate to Settings > Modules > Agent Portal > Options.
  6. The Show the “Underwriting Contact” Section Underneath Underwriting Questions checkbox should be selected as a result of the above steps.
  7. Add a custom message via the Custom Underwriting Message to display above Underwriting Questions text input. For example, Please call an underwriter for approval if answering “Yes” to any of the questions below.

Provider Administrator portal

When enabled for the Provider Administrator portal, the Name and Date Contacted fields appear for the staff member to complete. The Name field populates with staff who have the Underwriter role. When the fields are completed by staff, a note is written on the policy and the underwriter and date appear below the underwriting questions on the policy application.

To enable:

  1. Follow the steps above, but select BriteCore at step 4.

Both portals

To enable:
