To set up the Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB) integration:
- Contact HSB.
- Complete the required paperwork.
- Obtain the following information from HSB:
- Username
- Password
- Company code
- Discuss claims notifications with HSB.
- Inform HSB of the following:
- IDR and EB data are submitted via FTP.
- Service line and home system protection data are emailed.
BriteCore setup
In BriteCore, you will need to set up lines, claims, and the HSB vendor integration.
Lines
To set up lines for the HSB vendor integration:
- In the Lines module, build the applicable coverage on the appropriate lines of business.
Claims
To set up claims for the HSB vendor integration, you will need to add perils and the HSB Reinsurance Contract.
Add perils
- In the BriteCore menu, select Claims.
- In the Claims menu, select Components, and then select Perils.
- On the Perils screen, select the Add a New Peril icon .
- In the Peril dialog box, complete the following steps:
- In the New Peril box, type the name of the peril.
- In the Code box, type the applicable code.
- In the ISO APlus Code box, type the appropriate code.
- Select Done.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 to add a peril for each HSB coverage.
Add the HSB Reinsurance Contract
- In the BriteCore menu, select Claims.
- In the Claims menu, select Components, and then select Reinsurance.
- On the Reinsurance screen, select the Add a Contract icon to open a new contract form.
- In the Contract ID box, type Hartford Steam Boiler.
- In the Contract Description box, type an appropriate description such as IDR and EB.
- In the Name of Reinsurance Company box, type Hartford Steam Boiler, and then either press Enter/Return or select anywhere outside of the box.
- In the New Contract dialog box, add HSB’s contact information, and then select Done.
- In the Factor Ceded box, type 1.0000.
- Select Single Retention for All Coverages.
- If applicable, in the Set as default for these Policy Types section, navigate to and select the applicable Policy Types.
Vendor
You will need to set up the HSB vendor integration in BriteCore for the HSB services you are going to use.
Identity Recovery or Equipment Breakdown
To set up the HSB vendor integration in BriteCore for Identity Recovery or Equipment Breakdown:
- In the BriteCore menu, select Settings.
- In the Settings menu, select Vendors.
- Under Additional Insurance Products, select Hartford Steam Boiler.
- Next to Hartford Steam Boiler, select the edit icon . The Hartford Steam Boiler dialog box appears.
- In the FTP box, complete the following steps:
- In the Host (ftp.hsb.com) box, type the host information.
- In the Username box, type your username.
- In the Password box, type your password.
- In the Company Code box, type your company code.
- In the Products box, select the Add New Product icon , and then complete the following steps:
- In the Contract Number box, type the applicable contract number.
- In the Program Type dropdown list, select either Identity Recovery or Equipment Breakdown.
- In the Program ID dropdown list, select the applicable program ID.
- In the Ceding Commission dropdown list, select either Factor or Amount.
- Under the Ceding Commission dropdown list, in the commission value box, type either the factor or the amount.
- Under Applies to, for each line of business and effective date, navigate to and select the appropriate coverage.
- Select Save.
Note: You can add more contracts as needed.
Service Line or Home System Protection
To set up the HSB vendor integration in BriteCore for Service Line or Home System Protection, you need to download and set up the report.
Download the report
- Open the Client Shared BriteData Reports folder.
- In the Client Shared BriteData Reports folder, select the HSB Service Line report, and then select Download. The report will begin downloading.
Set up the report
- In the BriteCore menu, select Reports.
- In the Reports menu, select BriteData.
- On the BriteData Report Builder screen, select 1: Define your Report, and then complete the following steps:
- In the Report Name box, type the name of the report.
- In the Category dropdown list, select the appropriate category.
- In the Run Report Automatically dropdown list, select Once a month (Morning of 1st of month).
- At the top of the screen, select Upload Report, and then navigate to, select, and upload the report.
- At the top of the screen, select 3: Define Rules for your Data.
- Under Rules, select and drag Filter to the Define rules that you would like to use in your report box, and then, in the Filter where box, complete the following steps:
- In the dropdown list on the left, select Item Name.
- In the dropdown list in the middle, select equals.
- In the dropdown list on the right, select the name of the line item coverage.
- Update the Item Name filter to
- At the top of the screen, select Finish, and then select Save Report.
BriteCore processing
You will need to set up policies and claims for BriteCore processing.
Policies
Identity Recovery or Equipment Breakdown
Note: Complete the following steps on the first business day of each month.
To set up policies for Identity Recovery or Equipment Breakdown:
- In the BriteCore menu, select Policies.
- In the Policies menu, select Processing.
- On the Processing screen, select Hartford Steam Boiler.
- In the Hartford Steam Boiler box, select Generate Last Month’s Report, and then select the xls file to view the data.
Note: If the file is empty, the word Empty will appear next to the file.
- Once you verify the report, select Send Last Month’s Report.
Notes: When you see the word Sent next to a file, it confirms BriteCore sent HSB the file. If a policy is issued or renewed and then canceled within the same month, the Gross Premium data shows as $0.
Service Line or Home System Protection
Note: Complete the following steps on the first business day of each month.
To set up policies for Service Line or Home System Protection:
- In the BriteCore menu, select Reports.
- In the Reports menu, select Attachments.
- On the Attachments screen, for each applicable report, complete the following steps:
- In the Root Folder, navigate to and select an applicable report.
Note: The report will open in a new browser tab.
- In the new browser tab with the report, in the top-right corner, select the Download icon .
Note: If a dialog box appears, in the Save As box, type the name of the report, and then select Save to download the report.
- In the Root Folder, navigate to and select an applicable report.
- Email the report(s) to your HSB contact.
Claims
When a staff member creates a claim or an agent submits one, complete the following steps:
- Attach the HSB reinsurance contract to the claim.
- Set the reserves for Loss Reserve and Recovery Reserve.
Note:You aren’t expected to adjust expenses on HSB claims.
- Notify your HSB contact of the claim using HSB’s provided notice or BriteCore’s Loss Notice.
Note: HSB will either remit payment or provide you with a written notice of denial.
- Enter payments as a recovery.
Tip: Receiving a letter from HSB instead of your agency might confuse the insured, so in the event of a denial, create a new denial letter with your agency name and logo to send the insured.
