The Claims Import feature allows you to upload and manage claims in the system with improved control and visibility. It includes:
- Permission control to restrict access
- Error management for better troubleshooting
Step 1: Enabling Permissions for Claims Import
Before accessing the Claims Import functionality, ensure the system is configured for user access:
- Navigate to User Permissions under Settings.
- Ensure users have the britecore/claims/ingestion permission to access the Claims Import page.
- Users without this permission will not see the Claims Import section in the navigation menu.
Step 2: Uploading Claims via the Claims Import Page
Once the permissions are configured, follow these steps to use the Claims Import functionality:
- Navigate to Claims > Claims Import page.
- Download Claim template via the Export Template button
- that is pre-templated based on claim fields. This ensures correct data formatting and structure.
- Select New to Upload the prefilled claims file
- A pop-up modal will appear
- Enter the job name
- Review job names before submitting. Ensure the name follows the character limit (long names will be truncated and displayed with ellipses).
- Enter the operation - insert only or reinsert
- Add the filled out file
- Select Save
- Once uploaded, confirm the job’s status.
Note: The Delete button will be disabled while the job is processing.
Step 3: Handling Errors During Job Execution
During the Claims Import process, errors may occur:
- If an error happens, an error icon will appear next to the job status.
- Click the error icon to view the structured error message, which will show the error title in bold, followed by a detailed description.
- Errors are stored with titles and details for easier interpretation and troubleshooting.
Step 4: Monitoring the Claims Import Process
After starting the import process:
- Track job progress by selecting the Name to view the claim list and identify successful imports or errors.
- If any issues occur, you can retry the upload with just the claims that had errors.
Step 5: Completing the Claims Import Process
Once the import process is successful:
- Use the claim number to search for the claim in the Claim Search screen.
- Review Claim details in the Claim Administration view to ensure the data was uploaded correctly.
