MFA Quick Start Checklist for Carriers
This one-page checklist summarizes the required steps for a carrier to successfully prepare for and enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) in BriteCore.
User Readiness
✓ Confirm that my site has latest BriteAuth with MFA Enforcement Options. Look in Users -> Settings and find “Enforce MFA” radio button to confirm.
✓ Confirm every user has a unique login (no shared accounts).
✓ Ensure every user has a valid email address on file (REQUIRED).
✓ Strongly recommend adding an SMS-capable mobile phone number for each user.
✓ Update or correct missing contact information under Users → Edit User.
2. Organizational Preparation
✓ Identify the internal team responsible for password resets and MFA lockouts.
✓ Establish your internal lockout workflow (who users contact and how accounts are updated).
✓ Decide on the MFA activation date and time.
3. Notify Users
✓ Send MFA transition notification email to all staff and agents.
✓ Instruct users to verify their email and phone information before the activation date.
✓ Provide internal support contact details for anyone who cannot log in.
4. Enable MFA
✓ After BriteCore confirms update completion, go to:
Users → Settings → Enforce MFA for All Users
✓ MFA is now required for all users at next login.
5. Post-Activation Support
✓ Be available to help users who cannot complete MFA (incorrect email/phone, lost device, etc.).
✓ Update user contact information as needed and re-invite users if login issues occur.
