New Features and Enhancements
Updated Design for Claim Pages (BC-26314)
The claim page and all of its tabs, the Catastrophes, Import Claims and Jobs List pages, the claim attachments screen, and the vehicle and loss address panels of File a Claim now use the same modern design as Claims Search and Contacts. The claim header stays pinned while scrolling, the left sidebar serves as tab navigation, exposures appear as a sub-menu under Accounting, and table rows expand into a read-only preview. Existing claim functionality is unchanged, and the updated pages are on for all sites. For a preview visit the community forum.
Redesigned Claims Search Page (BC-25988)
The Claims Search page has been rebuilt with the same layout as the new Contacts list, including always-visible filters, a toggle between claims and addresses views, and a card view with a Sort By option on small screens. The new page keeps every column, filter, action, and permission of the previous page, and it also replaces Claims Search on the agent site. It is on by default; administrators can return to the classic page with the Use the new Claims Search page setting.
Redesigned Policy Search Page (BC-25989)
The Policy Search page has been rebuilt with an updated layout that matches the new Contacts list, including always-visible filters, column sorting, and a pager showing the number of policies, for both administrators and agents. Sites can switch back to the classic page with the Use the new Policy Search page setting, and a Go to legacy page link in the footer opens the classic page for a single visit where legacy pages are enabled.
Per-State and Per-Policy-Type Setting Overrides (BC-21869)
BriteCore can now apply advanced setting’s value for a specific state, a specific policy type, or a policy type within a state, falling back to the global value when no override exists. Administrators can manage these overrides through new API endpoints, and each save is recorded in an audit note. Settings that support overrides now take the policy's state and policy type into account when they are read.
Per-Report Notes in Reports Workspace (BC-24531)
In the Reports module, notes are now kept on each report, and actions such as saving, duplicating, importing, exporting, publishing, and changing permissions or schedules add a note automatically. A Notes tab in the report workspace lets users search, add, edit and delete notes, with access controlled by a new report notes permission together with the user's access to the report, and existing notes are moved onto their report where a match is found. The report workspace.
Report Copilot Shipped to All Carriers (BC-26170)
The Report Copilot in the SQL Editor is now available by default on all sites. The Report Copilot enables english language based reporting, by conversion from english to SQL. SQL reports can be saved in the Report Builder and enabled in the report list for usage across the carrier.
Foreign License Details Available in Documents and Reports (BC-24393)
The foreign license indicator and license issuing country captured for drivers in the Auto quote wizard are now available to Carbone document templates and to reporting. Documents such as declarations pages and auto ID cards can now print the country that issued a driver's license instead of leaving License State blank with no explanation. Reports can include both fields, with the issuing country described in the reporting catalog as Country Issued.
Reinsurance Reserves Report Columns and Totals Aligned with Its Definition (BC-25455)
The Reinsurance Reserves report no longer includes an extra Revision Id column, so its output now matches the 12 documented columns. The totals row is now produced by the standard report totals and is labeled Total in the State column. Column descriptions now state that the report reflects current reserves and recoveries when it is run, rather than as of a specified date, which matches how the report has always worked.
Corrected Column Descriptions in the Advance Premium Report (BC-25456)
The column descriptions for the Advance Premium report now match the data each sheet returns. The Advance Premium by LOB summary no longer lists a Billing Schedule column it never output, since that sheet totals by policy type and state; the Advance Premium List sheet still includes Billing Schedule. On Advance Premium List, the Producer/Agency # description now appears with its column and explains that it shows the producer number for agent-level roles and the agency number otherwise.
One Row Per Policy in the Credits on Canceled Policies Report (BC-25457)
The Credits on Canceled Policies report listed a separate row for each canceled or expired term, and Account Balance Across Terms held only that one term's balance. The report now shows one row per policy, and Account Balance Across Terms totals the balance across all of the policy's terms, so it agrees with the Credits on Policies report for any policy that appears on both. The policy link in each row has also been corrected so it opens the right policy.
Fee Receivable Columns Now Total Across Terms in Credits on Policies (BC-25458)
On the Details sheet of the Credits on Policies report, Ending Custom Fee Accounts Receivable and Ending System Fee Accounts Receivable showed a single term's value for policies with more than one term, while the premium and balance columns beside them were totalled. All four money columns are now totalled across the policy's terms, so the fee figures are consistent with the rest of the row.
Clearer Description and Filters for the Policy Term Expirations Report (BC-25463)
The Policy Term Expirations report now carries a proper description: it lists all policies and quotes whose term expiration date falls within the selected date range. The documented filters now also state that canceled, expired, and historical policies are excluded, which the report already did. BriteCore also cleaned up the report's stored query text; report results are unchanged.
Policy Renewals Report Shows Full Insured Address and Documents Its Filters (BC-25464)
In the Policy Renewals report, Insured Address now shows the named insured's full address, including attention line, both address lines, city, state, and ZIP code, instead of only the first address line. The sheet is now named Main Report, and the report's documented filters now list every condition it applies, including renewal status and policy status alongside the date range. The renewal date window now also covers the full final day of the selected range.
Claims by Reported Date No Longer Doubles Amounts for Some Claims (BC-25471)
In the Claims by Reported Date report, a claim with more than one saved reported date in the selected range was counted more than once, doubling its Net Reserve, Total Paid, and the Totals row even though the claim appeared on a single row. The report now uses one reported date per claim, so each claim's amounts and the report totals are counted once.
Uncommitted Policies Revisions Report Shows One Row Per Policy (BC-25477)
The Uncommitted Policies Revisions report now returns one row per policy, using the policy's latest open revision in the date range, and sorts by policy number, matching the earlier version of the report. First Revision is now marked only for the first revision of a new business term, so renewal terms no longer receive an X. The report's filter description now states that it includes open revisions on active policies that are not in Historical status.
Corrected Filter Description in the Open Loss Report (BC-25478)
Both sheets of the Open Loss Report described their filters as a date range with open reserves, although the report uses a single as of date and includes open claims whether or not a reserve is set. The filter description now reads As Of Date; Open Status, matching how the report works. Unused calculations were also removed from the Totals by Agent|Agency sheet; report results are unchanged.
Reliable Ordering and Totals in the Inforce Premium Report (BC-25482)
In the Inforce Premium report, neither the policy order nor the position of the TOTAL row was guaranteed. The report now uses the standard report totals row, which sums Inforce Premium and always appears last. Column descriptions were also corrected: Policy Status now notes that only canceled policies are excluded, Agency shows the plain agency name, and Policy State is the state on the policy type.
Corrected NSF Description in the Payments Received Report (BC-25483)
The Payments Received report described its NSF column as showing returned payments as positive values, although returned payments appear as negative values. The description now states that negative values indicate returned payments, which helps anyone balancing deposits read reversals correctly. The Agent/Agency description and the report description were also updated to match what the report shows.
Paid Premiums and Fees Report Totals and Descriptions (BC-25485)
In the Paid Premiums and Fees stock report, the detail sheet left out paid policy terms that had no matching agency, so its totals could fall short of the summary sheet. Those terms now appear with blank agency cells, and the Paid Amounts Per Policy Type sheet is consistently grouped by policy type and state. The report descriptions also no longer mention an Old Accounting Adjustment column the report never returned.
Aged Accounts Receivable Report Query Cleanup (BC-25486)
The stored query behind the Aged Accounts Receivable stock report contained syntax errors that BriteCore corrected automatically when the report ran. BriteCore removed those errors, so the stored query is now valid as written for anyone who reviews or copies it. Report results are unchanged.
Clearer Descriptions in the Incomplete Contacts Report (BC-25488)
The Incomplete Contacts stock report's descriptions now match what the report actually returns. They state that superuser accounts are excluded, that Active is TRUE unless the contact has been deleted, and that Incomplete Address checks only the first address line, so a contact with a street but no city, state or ZIP code is not listed. Report rows and counts are unchanged.
Updated Return Premium Report Description (BC-25493)
The Return Premium stock report previously carried a generic placeholder description. It now has a full description, and its sheet and column descriptions have been corrected to reflect the data the report returns. Report results are unchanged.
Building-Level Additional Insureds and Interests in Document Templates (BC-25684)
For policy types that record additional insureds and additional interests on individual buildings, such as a Businessowners Policy, those contacts appeared in the quote wizard but were not available to document templates. Each building's document data now includes these contacts with their type (for example, Additional Insured), name and address, so templates such as applications can print them.
Earlier Detection of Invalid Stock Report Queries (BC-26523)
A stock report query that ended with a comment or extra semicolon after its final statement could fail on a site with the error "Only one SQL statement can be run at a time." BriteCore now checks every stock report query for this before release, so these reports reach sites in a form that runs.
Bug Fixes
New Business and Endorsement Checkboxes Missing When Editing Underwriting Rules (BC-23116)
In some configurations, editing an underwriting rule showed only a Renewal Only checkbox instead of the New Business, Endorsement and Renewal checkboxes, so a rule enabled only for New Business and Endorsement hid its settings and saving it reset all three. The rule edit form now always shows all three checkboxes and saves them as set, and underwriting rules now run only for the transaction types they are enabled for.
More Reliable Policy Imports During Data Migration (BC-25995)
BriteCore's data migration policy importer now keeps joint named insureds intact, imports policies on sites without a credit vendor by combining the insureds' migrated credit scores, retries a step automatically when the database is briefly busy, and reports the reason when a reinstatement is refused. Previously, these cases could drop the primary insured, skip the policy, or fail with an empty error message. Large migrations also finish faster because several policy types are now processed at once.
Penny Variances After Manual Commission Adjustments (BC-26062)
In Delayed Commission Payments, a manual commission adjustment entered for the exact amount owed on a negative delayed commission entry could leave a variance of a few cents in Commissionable ($), even though the commission dollars netted to zero. BriteCore now calculates the adjustment's commissionable amount from the original entry, so an exact offset clears both the commission and commissionable amounts, whether the adjustment is entered on the page or through the API.
Payment Made Webhook Now Counts Net Commission Credits (BC-26273)
For agency-billed policies that use Net Commission, the payment made webhook event ignored Net Commission credits, so it reported the commission as still due even when the invoice was paid in full. The event, and the invoice details returned by the retrieve payment API endpoint, now include these credits and report the correct amount paid and paid-in-full status.
Invoice Cloud Payments Rejected After a Named Insured Change (BC-26395)
When an Invoice Cloud payment arrived for a policy with no matching payment method on file, BriteCore created a placeholder Invoice Cloud payment method but could fail to find it if the named insured had changed through an endorsement or renewal after the invoice was billed. The payment was then rejected with the message "account has no associated payment method," and because Invoice Cloud does not retry these notifications, the payment was not recorded. BriteCore now creates the placeholder payment method for the billed term's primary named insured and applies the payment with it directly, so these payments post as expected.
Corrected Claim Details Sent to Claim Service Vendors (BC-26045)
BriteCore corrected how claim details are prepared for upcoming claim service vendor integrations, such as CCC. Each exposure now includes its coverage name, the loss address includes the county name, and a claim with no loss date or an exposure with no coverage is stopped with a clear message the adjuster can act on before anything is sent.
Reinsurance LAE Missing When a Claim Is Opened Directly on the Accounting Tab (BC-26188)
On sites that show Reinsurance Loss Adjustment Expense (LAE), opening a claim directly on the Accounting tab, including from the link in the reinsurance Attention Required - Changes to Claim email, hid the Reinsurance LAE row in the Recoveries card and the Reinsurance LAE category when adding a recovery, even when Monitored for Reinsurance was on. Reinsurance LAE now appears consistently regardless of how the claim is opened, so LAE recoveries are no longer booked under Reinsurance by mistake.
Premium-Based Forms Listed on Flat-Cancelled Terms (BC-26046)
After a recent change to how form print conditions evaluate premium, forms set to print only when an item carries premium were listed again on flat-cancelled terms (terms cancelled on or before their start date), which earn no premium. BriteCore now treats the premium as zero for these form conditions on flat-cancelled terms, so the forms no longer appear in the applicable forms list, document template data, or the View Dec preview of a cancelled revision. Mid-term and pending cancellations are unchanged.
Mortgagee-Billed Invoices Missing From the InsVista Billing File (BC-26139)
When an Escrow Billing or Mortgagee Billed invoice was printed before its transaction date, it was left out of the InsVista billing (BG) file for both days, so the mortgagee never received the bill and no error was shown. BriteCore now evaluates each invoice's balance, billing reason, and premium due as of its own transaction date, so every printed escrow or mortgagee-billed invoice is included in the file with the correct amount due.
IVANS Initial Loads for Large Agencies Now Complete (BC-26162)
When an IVANS initial load was requested for a large agency from Support Tools, the success confirmation appeared, but the background build stopped partway through and no file was generated or sent to IVANS. Initial loads now build in smaller parts and can resume where they left off, and a build that fails is recorded as failed instead of appearing successful.
Collision Rating Symbol Not Displaying on Auto Policies (BC-18619)
On the Vehicles and Drivers tabs of an existing auto policy, three detail rows followed the display rule of a neighboring field instead of their own, so the Collision Rating Symbol could stay hidden even when configured to show. The Collision Rating Symbol, days per week driven, and License Number rows now follow their own display rules.
Accurate Duplicate Warnings for HTML Deliverables in Configuration Imports (BC-26106)
During a configuration import, the HTML deliverables step warned about duplicates for deliverables that would simply be updated, and missed deliverables that would actually be duplicated when they had no custom name. The warning now lists only deliverables that the import will add next to an equivalent existing deliverable, whether or not they have a custom name, so users can trust it when reviewing an import.
Restricted Options Re-Enabled by Overlapping Rules in the BriteQuote Quote Wizard (BC-26116)
In the BriteQuote Quote Wizard, when two underwriting rules with a Remove Category Option effect hid the same option and one of those rules stopped applying, the option became selectable again even though the other rule still applied. This could let agents select and bind a value the carrier had restricted, such as a wind and hail deductible not allowed in a county. Options now stay hidden for as long as any applicable rule removes them.
Calculated Insurance Score Selection Overridden by the Score Lock (BC-26136)
In the Insurance Score dialog, selecting Use Calculated Score on an open revision dated on the term's effective date appeared to succeed, but when the policy type's Keep the rated credit score locked for setting was in use, rating reverted to the prior term's score and could produce a different premium than an underwriting override for the same tier. A calculated score selection now takes precedence over the score lock for that term, and the term continues to follow new credit reports. The next renewal term starts without this exception, and the lock carries the selected score forward.
Automatically Added Coverages Saved with a $0 Limit at Renewal (BC-26231)
When a renewal underwriting rule automatically added a coverage whose limit is set to a fixed System Automatic amount, the coverage was saved with a $0 limit, so Builder showed the configured amount while the declaration showed $0. BriteCore now saves the configured fixed limit whenever such a coverage is added, so Builder, the stored policy, and the declaration all show the same amount. Coverages already saved with a $0 limit are not changed by this fix.
Moving a Quote's Effective Date Past a New Line Effective Date (BC-25378)
On the Quote Wizard Setup page for Personal Umbrella Policy quotes, agents could not move an unissued quote dated before a new line effective date onto or past that date; the page returned an error, and only an administrator could change it. The Setup page now lets agents change the date across a new line effective date after confirming the change, moving the quote to the new version as the property quote flow does. The site's configured date limits still apply.
False Automatic Return Premium After a Same-Day Credit Was Used (BC-25998)
The automatic return premium process could issue a return premium for a credit that reached the refund aging threshold on the same day a later transaction, such as an endorsement invoice, had already used it up. This reopened the policy balance and could lead to non-payment cancellation activity. The process now considers every transaction on the threshold day and the net balance, so no return premium is created once the balance has been brought to zero.
Improved Security for Driver Details on the Drivers Tab (BC-26048)
BriteCore tightened how the Drivers tab on policies, in both the back office and the agent portal, displays driver and violation details such as Full Name, Current Employer, Comments, Dispute Reason, and Reference Number. Text entered in these fields is now always shown as plain text, protecting users who open the tab.
Empty Bill Whom Dropdown on the Agent Quote Billing Step (BC-26101)
On the Billing step of an agent quote, certain contacts without a sweep account were left out of the Bill Whom dropdown. When that contact was the only option, such as the Named Insured, the dropdown was empty and Add an ACH Account returned "You must select a Bill Whom contact before adding a new payment method," blocking quote submission. These contacts now appear in the dropdown, so agents can complete billing setup.
Question Labels in Supplemental Question Change Notes (BC-26225)
After Rate & Save, the Supplemental Question Changes notes in Show Change Notes and the Endorsement Summary deliverable listed changed application question answers as "(Unlabeled)" instead of the question text, and also reported untouched blank answers as changed to "No answer provided." Notes now show each question's configured label and list only answers that actually changed. Underwriters can see which question an agent updated without comparing revisions by hand.
Overridden Coverage Limits Reverted During Agent Rating in BriteQuote (BC-26209)
When an agent rated a quote in BriteQuote with Calculate Rate, a coverage whose limit is overridden by another item, such as personal property coverage increased by a replacement value endorsement, was saved at its base limit even though the rating screen showed the overridden limit. As a result, the Quote Summary and the Declaration could print the wrong limit. Overridden limits are now saved correctly on every rating path.
Multi-Statement SQL Report Sheets Refused on Save and Import (BC-26291)
A report sheet saved outside the SQL Editor, or brought in through a report import, could contain more than one SQL statement; it saved successfully but then failed when the report ran. BriteCore now refuses such a sheet on save and on import with a message naming the sheet, matching the check the SQL Editor already performs.
Cash Balance Report Now Matches the Month End Close Package (BC-20081)
The Cash Balance Report has been rebuilt in the SQL Editor so that its shared money columns follow the same definitions as the Month End Close Package. Previously, Change In Paid System Fee on the Cash Balance Report could disagree with System Fee Collected on the Month End Close Package for the same period, because the older report classified money on the day it arrived and never revisited it. Both reports now classify money by what it is at the end of the reporting period, and carriers that customized the earlier version keep it as Cash Balance Report LEGACY.
Clearer Error and Steadier Performance When Building Report Measures (BC-24917)
In the SQL Editor, building a report measure with a name that does not exist returned a database error instead of the intended message. It now returns a message listing the valid measure names. BriteCore also restores the original database session settings after every measure build, so later queries in the SQL Editor and through the API keep their normal performance.
Phantom Premium in Premium Running After Reinstating an Expired Term (BC-26538)
When a policy term that had already expired was flat-cancelled and reinstated within the same reporting period, the Premium Running report could show small negative written and earned premium for that term, and monthly totals no longer matched year-to-date runs. The cancellation and reinstatement now net to zero in Premium Running and in the related month-to-date, year-to-date and profitability reporting.
Rule-Added Coverages Dropped From Legacy Quotes (BC-26544)
In legacy quoting, a coverage added automatically by a rule could be silently left off the quote when it was added at the same moment the quote was being rated and saved. BriteCore changed how Rate and Save updates the quote so the two actions no longer conflict, and rule-added coverages now stay on the quote.
Cut-Off Filter Options and Numbers on Policy Search and Claims Search (BC-26545)
On Policy Search and Claims Search, filter menus were only as wide as their field, so longer options were cut off, and on some sites quote numbers wrapped onto two lines. Filter menus now open wider than their field, options that are still too long show in full on hover, and filters with long options such as Policy Types, Claim Type and Loss Causes grow to fit. The Policy Number and Claim Number columns also keep a consistent width on every site.
Edit Party Failing for Parties Added Through Vehicles, Injuries, or Damaged Properties (BC-26676)
On a claim's Parties tab, saving Edit Party for someone who was on the claim only through the Vehicles, Injuries, or Damaged Properties tabs, such as a vehicle owner or driver, failed with the message "Failed to update party. Please check that the fields are properly filled." BriteCore now adds the person as a party on the first edit, so users can assign a claim-level role and update the party's contact details as expected.
Repeated Warning on Tab Change in Legacy Quoting (BC-26700)
When an agent created a new legacy quote, a warning pop-up appeared after saving an address and then reappeared on every tab change. The pop-up no longer appears when moving between tabs.
Stock Report Updates Not Applying on Some Sites (BC-26840)
On some sites, stock report updates included in a release failed to apply when the report's version history was out of order, leaving the report on its older query, sheets and parameters. BriteCore now numbers each new report version from the highest existing version, so these updates apply as expected, and affected reports pick up their changes with the next release.
Rate and Save Selection Warning Now Grouped by Coverage (BC-26867)
When an agent selected Rate and Save on a legacy quote with a dropdown left blank, the warning listed only the field names, such as "Construction Type" needs a selection, without saying which coverage each belonged to. The warning now lists each missing selection under its coverage and property name, and a field left blank on several coverages appears under each one, so agents can go straight to the coverage that needs attention.
Phone Extension Overflow on the Contacts List (BC-26909)
On the Contacts list, a phone number with a long extension could run into the Email column on sites that use smaller custom font sizes. The **Phone** column now keeps a consistent width, and a long extension wraps onto a second line within the column instead of overlapping the next field.
E-Signature Option Missing During Quoting (BC-27004)
During quoting, the electronic signature option could disappear and agent submissions could be refused even though DocuSign was connected, because BriteCore's connection check to the e-signature service gave up too quickly on a slow first response. The check now allows more time before treating the service as unavailable, so the electronic signature option remains available as expected.
