Renumber risks

As you add risks to a policy, BriteCore numbers them sequentially. When a risk is removed from the policy through an endorsement or renewal, that risk’s number will be missing in the list of risks. In BriteLines, you can renumber the risks to eliminate the missing number on the list. Example: If you have three vehicles on a policy, the vehicles will be numbered based on the order they were added:

• Vehicle 1
• Vehicle 2
• Vehicle 3

If the policyholder sells Vehicle 2, then it’ll be removed:

• Vehicle 1
• Vehicle 3

If the policyholder buys another vehicle and adds it to the policy, it’ll be labeled as Vehicle 4:

• Vehicle 1
• Vehicle 3
• Vehicle 4

You can renumber the risks based on an endorsement or renewal, so the vehicles will be renumbered on the policy:

• Vehicle 1
• Vehicle 2
• Vehicle 3

To renumber risks:

1. In the BriteCore menu, select Lines.
2. In the Lines of Business list, select the applicable line of business.
3. On the Line Overview screen, select the product you want to edit.
4. On the Product Overview screen, select Edit Product.
5. On the General tab, in the Renumber risks section, select either Endorsement or Renewal.
6. Select Save Changes.

The risks will be renumbered based on your selection.
