Prevent policy cancellations prior to recent loss date

In BriteCore, users can set a policy to:

• Cancel on a specific date.
• Cancel before the loss dates of claims associated with the policy.

Administrators can use the cancel-policy-prior-to-loss-date advanced setting to prevent canceling policies before loss dates.

To enable the setting:

1. Navigate to Settings > Advanced > Policies.
2. In the cancel-policy-prior-to-loss-date box, select True.

If this setting is enabled and an underwriter tries to cancel the policy with a date on or before the loss date, the cancellation will not proceed, and they will receive the following message: Policy cancellation date must be after the most recent loss date.
