Overview
When a policy is escrow billed, carriers may want to prevent late fees from being applied when the policy moves into a cancel-pending status. This can be achieved by configuring the advanced setting disable_cancel_fees_if_mortgagee.
How It Works
The disable_cancel_fees_if_mortgagee setting ensures that no late fees are applied if the policy's payor (bill_whom) is a mortgagee. When this setting is set to true, the system automatically disables non-payment fees for escrow-billed policies.
Default Behavior
By default, the system applies late fees even if the payor is a mortgagee. Enabling the disable_cancel_fees_if_mortgagee setting overrides this behavior, ensuring no fees are applied during cancel-pending for escrow-billed policies.
