This guide explains how account numbers and group billing numbers can be displayed for policies, particularly when working with integrated payment vendors (Orbipay). Grouped policies allow payments to apply across multiple policies within an account, streamlining the billing and payment process.
Account Number Overview
- The account number is used to group policies for billing purposes, especially when integrated with payment vendors that accept a single payment for multiple policies.
- Account numbers or group billing numbers (GBN) may be displayed depending on your configuration settings.
Account Number Display Configuration
To set the account number format:
- Navigate to Settings > Advanced > Policies.
- In the policy-account-number-format box, in the Setting Value box, type the appropriate format for the account number as required by your payment or accounting setup.
- In the display-account-number box, select the appropriate format:
- To hide the group and account numbers, select hide_gbn_and_account_number.
- To display the account number as a heading on the policy page, select show_account_number_as_heading.
- To display either the group billing or the account number, select show_gbn_or_account.
Note: On a linked policy, the group billing number will display. On an unlinked policy: The account number will display.
Additional Search Filter
The can-search-groups advanced setting adds a filter to the ElasticSearch, enabling quick retrieval of policies by Policy Group Number. This filter allows users to use both default and custom Policy Group Billing Numbers to search for policies linked to a specific Policy Group Number.
