BriteCore will automatically renew policies. Policy renewals will reflect changes to the policy, such as new mandatory coverages and inflation guards. BriteCore will also update values like claim history and the age of a property.
Policy declarations and invoices will print for the renewals.
Additional forms won't print unless:
- A new policy form was added.
- A form is set to print at every renewal.
- A form was updated.
Vendor data will process as it typically does.
BriteCore can automatically transfer outstanding debits to the policy renewal if you use the move_cross_term_debits advanced setting. See Transfer prior term debits and credits to a renewal term.
On renewal, BriteCore can also automatically update all age-related items, such as the age of the roof and the age of the home, when the enforce-year-built-across-terms advanced setting is enabled. See Update age-related items at renewal.
BriteCore renews policies by creating and committing renewal revisions on the same day the renewal invoice is scheduled to print. If the renewal revision is set to print 30 days before the renewal's inception date, BriteCore will process the renewal revision 30 days before the inception date.
If the original policy is endorsed after BriteCore has processed the renewal revision, BriteCore will make applicable changes to the renewal revision or alert you that the revisions need to be made manually. See Manage late-term endorsements.
You will be notified by email if BriteCore can’t automatically process a policy renewal. You can use the Builder Conflict Resolver to resolve conflicts and process the renewal.
Note: Automatic renewals can be disabled by setting the auto_renewal advanced setting to False.
Considerations
If a new lines effective date is added to your site, then when policies renew, they will renew onto the new effective date. Any associated changes will transfer with the renewed policy. If there are conflicts, BriteCore will notify you by email.
