In the Attachments screen of a claim, you can upload and manage files related to the specific claim. The Attachments screen is accessible in both the Provider Administrator and Agent portals. You can complete the same actions in the Attachments screen of a claim as you can in any other module.
See the Attachments overview for more information.
Create additional private subfolders
When a claim is created, a private folder is also created. The private folder will have the image of a lock, which indicates the folder is private and hidden from agents. You can define additional subfolders to be created for each new claim with the advanced setting claim_private_subfolders. When you enable this setting, BriteCore will create these subfolders within the private folder, so these subfolders will also be locked and hidden from agents.
To create additional private subfolders:
- Navigate to Settings > Advanced.
- Search for claim_private_subfolders.
- In the Setting Value box, type the name of the subfolders in the order you want them to appear. Separate the subfolder list with commas.
Automatically copy documents into claim's Attachments screen
For streamlined claim processing, identified documents can be copied directly into a claim's Attachments screen once the loss date is set. With the copy-files-to-claims-attachments advanced setting, you can choose the files you want BriteCore to automatically copy to the claim's Attachments screen by typing the document names in the Setting Value box. If you choose more than one document, separate the list with commas. BriteCore will copy the identified documents with an effective date less than or equal to the Loss Date. For example, if a declaration has effective dates of of 6/1/19, 8/1/19, 10/1/19, and a Loss Date of 9/1/19, the declaration pulled will be the declaration dated 8/1/19.
To identify documents to copy into the claim's Attachments screen:
- Navigate to Settings > Advanced.
- Search for copy-files-to-claims-attachments.
- Type the names of the documents you want BriteCore to automatically copy into a claim's Attachments screen. Separate the documents list with commas.
Usage considerations
There are a few settings that specifically impact the Attachments screen within a claim. With the agent-display-file-attachments-button advanced setting, you can hide the Upload File button in the Agent portal by changing the advanced setting to False. You can make the Upload File button visible in the Agent portal by changing the advanced setting to True. With the hide-loss-notice-to-agent-agency advanced setting, you can choose to hide the loss notice from the Attachments screen in the Agent portal. If the private-folder-upload-notes advanced setting is set to True, when you upload an attachment to a private folder, BriteCore will generate a note. If the advanced setting is set to False, when you upload an attachment to a private folder, no note will be created. When a file or folder has the lock symbol on it, the file or folder is hidden from agents.
