The filter-cat-using-claims-loss-causes advanced setting allows you to optimize the matching of loss causes with catastrophes and filter out those catastrophes that can be assigned to a claim. When enabled, this setting facilitates a refined process for assigning catastrophes to claims based on their associated loss causes.
When the setting is enabled:
- If a claim has one or more loss causes set that match the loss causes associated with a catastrophe, the user can assign that catastrophe to the claim.
Example: If a catastrophe is designated with causes such as Hail and Wind and the claim has Hail set, the catastrophe can be assigned to that claim. - If the loss causes do not match, the specific catastrophe is excluded from the list of available catastrophes when you are viewing them for assignment.
- If no loss causes are set for the claim, all catastrophes remain available, ensuring an unobstructed view for assignment.
To enable this setting:
- Navigate to Settings > Advanced Settings > Claims.
- In the filter-cat-using-claims-loss-causes box, select True.
- After enabling the setting, complete the following steps to verify:
- Create a claim with a specific loss cause
- Attempt to assign a catastrophe.
- Check that only matching catastrophes are available for assignment and that non-matching catastrophes are filtered out.
