The disable_fein_ssn_for_active_policy advanced setting manages the Federal Employer Identification Number and Social Security Number (FEIN/SSN) editing permissions based on the policy status for a specific contact. When set to True, this setting disables the ability to edit the FEIN or SSN for primary insured contacts on active policies, ensuring that internal users, such as underwriters, follow the correct workflow of issuing a cancel/rewrite for necessary policy adjustments.
To restrict internal users from editing the FEIN/SSN:
- Navigate to Settings > Advanced > Policies.
- In the disable_fein_ssn_for_active_policy box, select True.
Note: By disabling FEIN/SSN editing, underwriters and other internal users must use the cancel/rewrite process for any updates, ensuring consistency in policy management.
To verify that FEIN/SSN editing is disabled:
- On the Legacy Policy Information screen, select the Contact icon to view the contact details.
- In the contact details, ensure the FEIN/SSN cannot be edited.
