Contacts
Purpose
With the Contacts advanced setting allow-duplicate-fein, you can protect from quoting against duplicate contacts by checking for duplicate FEIN/Tax IDs while adding a new contact.
Requirements
This setting requires True and False buttons.
Setting default
This setting's default value is False, so when you enter a duplicate FEIN, a Warning pop-up window will open. The following are examples of messages that will appear in the Warning pop-up windows:
- When a duplicate FEIN is entered in the Information tab of the Contacts module, a Warning pop-up window will open, stating The Federal EIN/Tax ID you entered was NOT saved!. BriteCore will prompt you to select the correct organization from the contacts listed in the Warning pop-up window that are associated with the FEIN/Tax ID you entered. If you can’t locate the correct organization, BriteCore will encourage you to review the FEIN/Tax ID you entered and re-enter the FEIN/Tax ID number.
- When a duplicate FEIN is entered in Quote, a banner will display across the top of the screen after you select Save Contact. The banner will state The Federal EIN/Tax ID you entered already exists in the system and can't be added to a new contact.
- When a duplicate FEIN is entered in the New Contact dialog box, a Warning pop-up window will open, stating Your contact was not saved. The Federal EIN/Tax ID you entered already exists in the system and can't be added to a new contact.
Changing the default
To change the default, navigate to Settings > Advanced and search for allow-duplicate-fein. Change the setting from False to True to allow agents and agencies to enter duplicate FEINs.
