The BriteCore Claims system includes enhanced capabilities to support and document litigations and disputed claims, helping adjusters and other claims professionals accurately track legal activity, manage related contacts, and ensure compliance with litigation processes, all from within the claim.
This functionality improves visibility, streamlines workflows, and ensures key legal information is well-documented throughout the life of a claim.
User Experience Details
Disputes Tab – Your Hub for Legal Case Tracking
The Disputes tab:
- Appears when the claim is marked as Disputed.
- Centralizes all litigation-related activity.
- Reduces the need for manual notes or external spreadsheets.
- Allows users to:
- View a summary list of all disputes linked to the claim.
- Add new disputes with key information, such as litigation type, involved parties, and important dates.
- Track settlement details and legal milestones.
- Edit or delete dispute records as the case evolves.
Mark a Claim as Disputed
To indicate that a claim has entered a legal dispute, while editing the claim information in the Information tab, select the Disputed Claim checkbox.
Once marked as Disputed, the system visually tags the claim and activates litigation features such as the Disputes tab, ensuring that claims under litigation are flagged and easier to manage.
Manage Legal Representation
When a claimant is represented by an attorney or public adjuster, that relationship can be documented within the claim, ensuring all parties involved are visible to users throughout the claim lifecycle, and communications remain accurate and compliant.
To add representation for a claimant:
- Navigate to a claim that includes one or more claimants.
- Select the Parties tab, and then enter the Representative as a new party.
- Edit the claimant information:
- Enter the Representation Start Date.
- Select their representative from the contact list.
- When you're finished, save your changes:
- The claimant will display as Represented by: [Representative Name] in the Parties tab.
- The Exposures tab will also show Represented by: [Representative Name] below the claimant’s name.
Note: When creating a new exposure for a claimant who has representation, the representative’s name will appear automatically under the claimant's name.
Access Legal Milestones and Settlements
The Disputes tab offers a streamlined way to track key legal activity directly within a claim. Users can document important litigation dates, such as court hearings and filing deadlines, through the Claim Dates section, which presents information in a clear and intuitive format.
Settlement information can also be added, including payout amounts and supporting descriptions. BriteCore automatically applies proper formatting to monetary values and enforces required fields to ensure that records are accurate and complete.
This integrated approach allows legal milestones and resolution details to be captured efficiently, keeping everything organized without requiring users to navigate away from the claim.
