The Contractor Tracking feature in BriteCore helps Claims Adjusters and Supervisors identify and investigate patterns in contractor activity across claims, and patterns when multiple contractors are involved in multiple similar claims. It supports proactive fraud detection and risk assessment by offering visual dashboards for monitoring and system tags for flagging suspicious contacts.
This feature combines:
- Interactive dashboards for monitoring trends.
- Tagging functionality to flag contractors as “under observation.”
- Enhanced visibility in claim workflows.

Monitor Contractor Activity via Dashboard
A new Contractor Tracking tab has been added to the Claims Manager dashboard, which provides insight into contractor behavior across multiple claims.
What’s included:
- A data table showing:
- Contractor names
- Links to contact records
- Associated claims
- Related public adjusters and attorneys
- Two maps:
- Total number of claims by ZIP Code
- Total dollar amount of claims by ZIP Code
Available Filters:
- Loss date range
- Multi-select for contractor, public adjuster, attorney, and ZIP Code
- (Optional/Proposed) Peril filter
Note: Use the dashboard to detect potential red flags, such as repeat claim submissions involving the same contractor or common associations with certain adjusters or attorneys.
Flag Suspicious Contractors with the “Watch” Tag
Once you identify a contractor that appears suspicious based on dashboard trends, you can flag them using the Watch system tag. This allows for easier tracking in future claims and shared visibility across the claims team.
Configuration Details
Step 1: Enable Display of System Tags in Claims
Before using the Watch tag, you must enable the display_contact_system_tags advanced setting.
Steps:
- Navigate to Advanced Settings in BriteCore Admin.
- Search for: display_contact_system_tags
- Set the value to True (toggle it on).
This setting ensures system tags will be visible on the Claims Contact page. When enabled, any contractor tagged as Watch will display the Watch: Yes field directly under their name in a claim.
Step 2: Add the “Watch” System Tag to a Contractor
Once the feature is enabled, you can flag contractors as follows:
- Go to Contacts.
- Select the contractor you wish to monitor.
- Scroll to the Background Information section.
- Next to System Tags, Select Edit.
- Select the Watch tag and select Save.
Result in Claims
- When a Watched contractor is added to a claim, the system will automatically display Watch: Yes under their contact details.
- This visual cue supports quicker identification during claims handling and helps ensure that known suspicious contractors are treated with appropriate scrutiny.
