Beta Note: Rules Copilot is currently in beta and is being rolled out to clients in stages. If you do not see the AI Copilot panel in Rules Configuration, contact your BriteCore account team.
The Rules Copilot is built into the Rules Configuration experience. You can create, manage, and understand underwriting, Straight-Through Processing (STP), claims, and billing rules in plain business language, without configuring trigger and effect logic by hand or writing Python. It reduces rule setup time, lets carrier business analysts create standard rules themselves, and keeps rules transparent to non-technical stakeholders through plain-language explanations.
The Copilot can do three main things:
- Build a rule conversationally from a plain-language description.
- Explain an existing rule in plain language, including rules originally written in Python.
- Import rules in bulk from a spreadsheet or an underwriting manual.
Copilot Panel
- Open Rules Configuration for the line or product you want to work on.
- Open the AI Copilot panel.
- Tell the Copilot which scope you are working in (underwriting, STP, claims, or billing), or simply describe what you want and the Copilot will ask if anything is unclear.
Rule Building Blocks
Whatever way you create a rule, the Copilot works with the same four parts of a BriteCore rule, and shows them to you in plain language before anything is saved:
| Building block | What it answers | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Condition | When does the rule apply? | Year built is before 1950 and electrical wiring has not been updated |
| Effect | What happens when it applies? | Decline the risk with a message to the agent |
| Scope | Where does it apply? | Underwriting rules for the Homeowners policy type |
| Logic | How do multiple conditions combine, and does a Hard Reverse apply? | All conditions must be true (AND); Hard Reverse off |
Change Records
Every rule the Copilot creates or changes is attributed to you, the signed-in user, and is recorded in Notes with an indication that it was made through the Copilot, so Copilot-driven changes appear in the same change history as changes made by hand.
