When you have many rules to set up, the Copilot can read them from a file and prepare them in bulk. Each rule is shown to you as a preview card, and nothing is saved until you confirm.
Spreadsheet Import
- Select Import Rules and select the paperclip icon to upload a spreadsheet (.xlsx, .csv, or .xls).
- The Copilot parses the file row by row and presents one preview card per rule, each showing the condition, effect, and a plain-language explanation.
- Any row missing required fields is flagged with an explanation so you can fix it, either in the file or by telling the Copilot what the value should be.
- Confirm rules individually, or select multiple rules and use bulk confirm. Nothing is saved until you confirm.
Spreadsheet Layout
The Copilot works from the column headings and the text in each row, so there is no fixed template. A simple layout with one rule per row works best:
| Rule name | Scope | Condition | Effect | Message |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Old wiring | Underwriting, Homeowners | Year built before 1950 and wiring not updated | Decline | Dwellings built before 1950 require updated wiring. |
| Prior claims | STP, all policy types | More than 2 claims in the last 3 years | Refer to underwriter | Prior loss history requires review. |
Underwriting Manual Extraction
- Select From Manual and upload a PDF. Scanned PDFs are supported through optical character recognition.
- The Copilot extracts rule candidates and groups them by document section, showing the source reference (for example, ยง 4.2) on each preview card along with the condition, effect, and explanation.
- Review and edit the extracted rules, then confirm them for creation.
Preview Card Review
- Open each card and check that the condition and effect match the source. Edit the text on the card or tell the Copilot what to change.
- If the Copilot detects that a new rule conflicts with an existing one, the card shows a warning before you confirm.
- Rules you do not want can be dismissed; dismissed rules are not created.
- After confirming, the rules appear in your rule list and each is recorded in Notes as created through the Copilot.
