Describe the rule in plain business language. The Copilot extracts the four building blocks of a BriteCore rule: the condition, the effect, the scope, and the logic (AND/OR, and whether a Hard Reverse applies). It then turns them into a structured rule.
Steps
- With the Copilot panel open, describe the rule, for example “Decline any dwelling built before 1950 unless it has updated electrical wiring.”
- The Copilot generates a structured rule preview showing the condition, effect, scope, and logic in plain language. If your request is ambiguous, it asks a clarifying question.
- Review the preview. When it is correct, confirm it. The Copilot fills in the rule form for you.
- Select Save. The rule is created and appears in your rule list.
Rule Updates
Select the rule, then describe the change, for example “Change the threshold to 1960” or “Make this a referral instead of a decline.” The Copilot shows you what will change and leaves everything else as it is. Confirm, then save.
Example Requests
- “Refer to underwriting any homeowners quote with a roof older than 20 years.”
- “Block STP for any policy with more than two claims in the last three years.”
- “Add a $25 late fee when an installment is more than 10 days past due.”
- “Flag any claim where the reserve exceeds $50,000 for supervisor review.”
Tips
- Say what should happen, not how to configure it. “Decline”, “refer”, “warn the agent”, and “block the quote” are all understood.
- Include the policy type or line if the rule should not apply everywhere.
- If a rule needs several conditions, say how they combine: “both of these” or “any of these”.
- New rules are created with Hard Reverse off, Agency Exceptions set to None, and Transaction Type set to All. Mention it in your request if you need something different.
