You can change rates, rate chains, and line items by describing the change in plain language. The Copilot shows you what it plans to change, applies the change after you confirm, and records it in the line's Notes.
Steps
- Open the line or policy type and open the AI Copilot panel. Work in UAT first.
- Type a plain-language instruction, for example “Increase the rates for married 45-50 by 5%.” You can also adjust the rate chain or line items conversationally, for example “Add a $2,500 deductible option to Collision.”
- The Copilot describes the change it will make. For a change that touches many rows or several items, it lists the affected tables and asks you to confirm before anything is written.
- Confirm. The Lines Copilot applies the change. Review the result to confirm it matches your intent, for example by asking it to show the updated rows.
- Validate the product. The Lines Copilot can check the configuration against a rating engine. Then save.
Example Instructions
- “Increase all base rates for Coverage A by 3%.”
- “Set the Territory 12 factor to 1.15 for all coverages.”
- “Add a new limit option of $500,000 to Personal Liability.”
- “Remove the Water Backup endorsement from the Renters policy type.”
- “Copy the 2025 rate tables to a new 2026 effective date.”
Note: Bulk changes across a whole effective date can take a few minutes to apply. Keep the panel open until the Copilot reports that the change is complete, then verify a sample of the updated rows.
Production Promotion
When the product and rates are validated in UAT, promote the configuration to production following your normal release process, for example by using Configuration Promotion to package the effective date and import it on the production site. Re-run a sample of quotes on production to confirm premiums match UAT.
