If you want to edit an existing Policy Type or set up a new type, you can access the Policy Type settings in the Lines module.
To access Policy Type settings:
- In the BriteCore menu, select Lines.
- On the Effective Dates screen, select the effective date you want to use.
- On the Policy Types screen, select the Select State or Province dropdown list, and then select a state or province.
- In the Policy Types list, complete one of the following steps:
- Navigate to the line you want to add a Policy Type to, and then select the Add Policy Type plus icon.
- Navigate to the Policy Type you want to edit, and then, to the left of the Policy Type, select the edit pencil icon.
- On the Details screen, use the Policy Type settings table below to complete the Policy Type section.

The Policy Type settings table lists all of the settings and includes descriptions, use cases, and examples.

|Allow Multiple Properties for this policy type?
|Allows agents to add multiple properties to the same policy.
|Commercial property that needs coverage but is located at two different addresses.
|Maximum risk count
|The maximum number of properties a user can add to a singular policy.
|Open to Quoting
|Makes the policy type visible to the agent and allows the agent to quote.
|Clients may want to unselect this setting for a policy type when administrators are testing a new product released to their live site, so agents don’t start writing policies yet.
|Limit threshold upon which a policy of this policy type sends an administrative alert
|Defines a threshold of applicable limits against which either an email is sent and/or an approval code is necessary for quoting to continue.
|When Homeowner's Coverages A, B, C and D limits are greater than $1,000,000, send an email.
|When this threshold is reached, a policy of this policy type cannot be written without administrative approval
|Users will see a pop-up window with the defined threshold and a prompt for an approval code. No further changes to the policy can occur until they enter an approval code.
|A client may require specific underwriting approval for a limit of $4,000,000+.
|Rating information title for deliverable: RATING INFORMATION
|All data collected and designated by the client that can be used for rating a risk is listed under the Rating Information section of the deliverable.
|Change rating information title for deliverable:
|Type a customized Rating Information title, and then select Change.
|A client types Rating Details in the box to change the Rating Information title.
|Text for popup when limit threshold is reached
|Enter the message for the pop-up window that appears when the limit threshold is reached.
When a limit threshold of $5,000,000 is reached during a quote, the text you typed in the box appears in a pop-up window on the screen.

|Allow Property Valuation
|Enables property valuation for the policy type.
|A client may want to enable vendor integration property valuation (E2 value).
|Requires an Address for risk(s)
|The policy type requires a valid address to rate and save.
|A client may want to create a fire policy without a property location.
|Requires an Insured Name
|The policy type requires an insured’s name.
|Allow motor vehicle report for this policy type?
|Clients can choose whether or not a policy type can pull a motor vehicle report.
