Contacts
Purpose
With the Contacts advanced setting days_to_collect_prior_address, you can select the minimum number of days before a quote or policy date by which the named insured must have purchased the risk property. If the named insured purchased the risk property more recently than the minimum number of days before the date of the quote or policy, they will need to provide a prior address.
Requirements
This setting requires that you enter a number in the Setting Value box. The value is the number of days before the quote or policy date that the named insured must have purchased the risk property.
Setting default
This setting's default value is 90. If the named insured purchased the risk property more than 90 days before the date of the quote or policy, no additional information is required. If the named insured purchased the risk property less than 90 days before the quote or policy date, they will need to provide a prior address.
Change the default
To change the advanced setting, navigate to Settings > Advanced. Search days_to_collect_prior_address. Changing days_to_collect_prior_address to the number of days required by your agency triggers BriteCore to require a prior address if the named insured purchased the risk property more recently than the required number of days before the quote or policy date.
Adoption considerations
The days_to_collect_prior_address advanced setting relies on the Purchase Date checkboxes in the Contact Pop-Up section of Settings > Modules > Contacts. When you select the Purchase Date checkboxes and select Save, the Moving in date / Purchase Date box will appear when you create a policy or a quote. Depending on the date provided in the Moving in date / Purchase Date box, the named insured may be required to provide a prior address.
