Administrators can automate return premium processing by:
- Enabling automatic return premium processing.
- Setting a return premium threshold.
- Setting days on a policy.
- Delaying printing return premium deliverables.
Enable automatic return premium processing
To process return premiums automatically, administrators must enable the generate_return_premium advanced setting.
To enable the generate_return_premium advanced setting:
- In BriteCore, select Settings.
- On the Settings screen, select Advanced.
- On the Advanced Setting screen, in the Search for a Setting box, type generate_return_premium, and then select Search.
- In the generate_return_premium box, select True.
Set a return premium threshold
Administrators can define the return premium threshold by enabling the credit_threshold advanced setting. The credit_threshold advanced setting uses < (less than) logic.
Example: A threshold of $10 means any return premium less than $10 will remain on the policy.
To enable credit_threshold advanced setting:
- In BriteCore, select Settings.
- On the Settings screen, select Advanced.
- On the Advanced Setting screen, in the Search for a Setting box, type credit_threshold, and then select Search.
- In the credit_threshold box, in the Setting Value box, type the threshold value without the dollar sign ($).
Example: Type 10.
Set days on a policy
Administrators can define the number of days a credit remains on a policy until it is automatically moved to the Return Premium Queue by enabling the days_in_credit advanced setting. The days_in_credit advanced setting uses > (greater than) or = (equal to) logic.
Example: A value of 10 means the return premium will be moved from the policy to the Return Premium Queue 10 or more days from the day the credit was first issued.
To enable the days_in_credit advanced setting:
- In BriteCore, select Settings.
- On the Settings screen, select Advanced.
- On the Advanced Setting screen, in the Search for a Setting box, type days_in_credit, and then select Search.
- In the days_in_credit box, in the Setting Value box, type the number of days you want credits to remain on a policy before being moved to the Return Premium Queue.
Example: Type 10.
Delay printing return premium deliverables
A Return Premium Notice automatically generates and prints overnight when a return premium is created. When voiding a return premium, you might not want the Return Premium Notice to automatically print.
Note: Administrators can enable the days-to-delay-printing-auto-rp-deliverable advanced setting to delay printing the Return Premium Notice by a defined number of business days.
To enable the days-to-delay-printing-auto-rp-deliverable advanced setting:
- In BriteCore, select Settings.
- On the Settings screen, select Advanced.
- On the Advanced Setting screen, in the Search for a Setting box, type days-to-delay-printing-auto-rp-deliverable, and then select Search.
- In the days-to-delay-printing-auto-rp-deliverable box, in the Setting Value box, type the number of days you want to delay printing the Return Premium Notice.
Example: If you type 5, then the printing will be delayed for 5 days.
