BriteQuote Suspensions settings
The Suspension Mapping setting enhances the agent quoting process by providing agents with vital information about restricted areas such as closed, burn-prone, and flood-prone regions. This functionality aims to empower agents to make informed decisions, preventing them from proceeding with quotes in these restricted areas. The suspension map is integrated into the quote wizard, offering a clear visualization of areas with suspensions based on zip codes. When choosing the type of suspension, various options are available, including binding authority, suspension of application submission, suspension of quoting, suspension of the straight-through process, and suspension of endorsements.

- When entering a zip code, observe if the map highlights the corresponding area if it falls under a suspension.
Suspension Type Definitions:
- Suspend Binding Authority: Blocks the ability to bind/issue coverage (finalize the policy) for submissions that match the suspension rules during the suspension’s active dates. Used when binding must be paused pending underwriting review, capacity constraints, or catastrophe management.
- Suspend Application Submission: Blocks sending an application forward in the workflow (e.g., submitting to underwriting/carrier) for business that matches the suspension rules during the active dates. Used to stop new business from being formally submitted while still allowing other actions as configured.
- Suspend Quoting: Blocks generating quotes (and may remove/filter available choices in the quoting experience) for business that matches the suspension rules during the active dates. Commonly used to pause quoting in specific geographies/lines/policy types during CAT events or rule changes.
- Suspend Straight Through Processing: Prevents “straight-through” automated processing/decisioning from running for matching business during the active dates, forcing a manual review path instead of automation. Used when automation should be paused due to risk events, data issues, or temporary underwriting requirements.
- Suspend Endorsement: Blocks policy changes/endorsements for matching in-force policies during the active dates. Used when mid-term changes must be paused (for example, during CAT holds or when specific coverages/areas require review).
- Suspend Cancellation: Blocks initiating or processing cancellations for matching policies during the active dates. Used to temporarily prevent cancellations (e.g., during disaster moratorium periods) where cancellation activity must be paused for regulatory or operational reasons.
