Feature Summary
For an agent with a remote customer, who is issuing a policy through legacy quoting the eSignature solution is a seamless connection to DocuSign that allows users to sign new business documents. Agents now have the option to have the documents electronically signed by their customers and themselves when selecting eSignature during quoting.
Integrating the ability to eSign documents generated within the quoting workflow allows insurance companies and agents to automatically track documents while eliminating the manual work of employees that should otherwise prepare and review the documents for signature.
Integrating with an eSignature platform will also automatically log all events, changes, and users with a timestamp, so clients don’t have to dig deep to create a digital paper trail. If there is a need to look at who prepared the document, signed it, and when, the document can be assessed via logging.
What is changing
When a carrier enables eSignature, the Agent can choose to have new business documents signed through an integrated eSignature solution (DocuSign) at new business quote submission.
An agent can still select Wet (ink) sign to keep the functionality as is today. This is because an agent may integrate with their own eSignature solution outside of BriteCore or a policyholder prefers to sign with pen and paper.
The eSignature process will begin once the agent selects ‘Submit Application’. A pop-up will display the required documents and forms to be signed by the agent before moving back to the BriteCore website.
If the insured is required to sign, an email will also be sent to the insured’s email address inputted during the quote flow. The insured will follow the prompts within DocuSign to electronically sign the documents. Once signed, an email is sent to the signer(s) with the signed documents for future reference. The signed documents are also stored within policy attachments.
How does this impact you
Each carrier will own its relationship with DocuSign. BriteCore will connect you with the DocuSign sales representative to validate whether your existing or new DocuSign contract is adequate based on the new use case. Once you have your DocuSign account, an admin will need to enable DocuSign through the BriteCore vendors setting.
The most notable change will be new fields and a signing screen in the quoting experience for Agents.
