Enhancements
Automatically set Claims Reserves
BriteCore has now automated the process for setting initial reserves within the claims management system. With this enhancement, carrier clients can now set reserves based on coverages selected in policies. (BC-12627)
-
Default Reserves:
- For Property Claims: A default reserve is set based on the predefined values when coverage is added to a claim.
- For Auto Claims: The default reserves are set when an exposure is created with the given coverage.
-
Configuration within Lines setup:
- Configuration for Fixed Amount reserves requires values to be set for coverage policy-type items.
- The business configuration analyst will input 3 numeric values for Loss, Adjusting, and Legal for the given coverage’s default reserves.
Enhanced Voiding of Historical Claim Accounting Transactions
BriteCore was voiding claim accounting transactions based on the cancellation date, a practical approach for regular usage but less suitable for historical transactions involving historical claims. To address this limitation, this release introduces the capability to void historical claim accounting transactions with a custom date, offering a more nuanced and flexible approach to transaction handling (BC-12815).
Enhanced Claims Module - Vendor-Sourced Loss History Display
A claims adjuster can now see the loss history information obtained from vendors within the 'past claims' section on the claims information tab. The enhancement is designed to offer a more comprehensive view of the insured's claims history, ensuring that users have access to valuable past claims information sourced directly from vendors as well as past claims against the policy (BC-12192).
Melissa Integration for Enhanced Address Verification
The integration of Melissa is now available in BriteCore's essential quoting and policy workflows. This integration ensures the inclusion of property attributes like year built, square footage, construction type, and more. Agents and administrators will experience these improvements in the agent Quote Wizard, agent policy endorsement flow, and the admin Policy Builder. To enable the integration, visit the vendor Integrations settings page, choose Melissa Data, and follow the steps outlined in the dialog box, which includes entering the credentials provided by Melissa Data. Within the same dialog box, you'll be prompted to select the attributes you wish to include in the lookup. (BC-11099).
Defects
Policy Term and Expiration Date Validation Enhancement Summary
To resolve reported discrepancies in policy term dates, the effective date is now updated only if modified, accompanied by the creation of a note to log the change. Agents can no longer input the expiration date directly; instead, it is calculated based on the effective date and the selected policy term. This fix addresses concerns raised by some clients who reported issues with policies configured for a 1-year term, where the term length did not align with the expected duration, impacting the expiration date and, consequently, the rating. The introduced validation successfully resolves this issue. (BC-13129).
Payments declined by Invoice Cloud were initially displayed as approved in BriteCore.
Payments that were declined by Invoice Cloud were erroneously generating a "payment was successful" message, leading to confusion among insureds and carriers who assumed the payment had been successfully processed. Despite the misleading message, these payments were declined and accurately recorded in the system. To address this, a new validation process checks the approval status and now correctly marks payments as unsuccessful, delivering a more precise reflection of the actual payment status in the message (BC-12915).
Quote Wizard | Streamlined Navigation to Attachments Step
The Quote Wizard flow directs the user to the Attachments screen following the specified order in the section flow configuration. However, an issue was identified where the user was incorrectly redirected to the Questions screen instead of the Attachments screen when Attachments were specified to come first. This discrepancy arose from the multi-property lines having a navigation rule that guided the user to the application questions during the risks step. To rectify this, a check has been incorporated to ascertain if the attachments section directly follows the risks and precedes the application questions. In cases where this sequence is confirmed, the user is now correctly directed to the Attachments screen (BC-13125).
