Enhancements
Enhancing Supplemental Question Validation in Policy Information Screen
Previously, when rules hid mandatory supplemental questions during quote creation, they appeared as validation errors in the agent policy information screen once a revision was committed. BriteCore now skips supplemental question validation if the revision being viewed is committed. Now, upon navigating to the agent policy information page, users can confirm that the rating tab does not display any errors related to unanswered questions. (BC-13740)
Improving Underwriter Assignment Visibility and Search Functionality
While there is a method for assigning underwriters to policies, both visibility and searchability could be improved. To address this gap and more efficiently distribute work among underwriters within a carrier, two advanced settings have been introduced:
- Display Underwriter Assigned to Policy in the Policies List: This setting enables the display of the underwriter assigned to each policy directly within the policies list.
- Display Filter Box for Underwriter Selection: A filter box is added, allowing policies to be conveniently filtered by underwriters.
This enhancement empowers users to quickly locate policies associated with specific underwriters, streamlining workflow management. (BC-14809)
Customizing the Begin and End Dates for Month-End Close Package Report
The BriteCore “Month-End Close Package” (MECP) is a single master report, generated on the 1st of every month, which contains every key measure that an insurance carrier requires to complete their financial accounting entries, whether they use MTD or YTD booking, delivered with sufficient level of detail and with consistent data fields available. The MECP consists of 5 primary datasets, which when delivered in an Excel Workbook, are each displayed as their own Worksheet. Due to the large scale and scope of data within the MECP, it has the potential to replace nearly all other Stock Monthly-run Reports. BriteCore will work together with clients over the coming months to shorten the list of reports each carrier runs, simplifying the experience for all and providing the most efficient, accurate reports available.
While the MECP is intended for month end, it now can be run to get MTD or YTD information on any given completed day. With this latest enhancement, clients can now choose a begin and end date range at runtime of the MECP report in order to better mirror existing reports (BC-12462).
Synchronization of Premium Classifications Between Reports and Dashboards
To ensure clarity in the Carrier Experience Report, BriteCore has introduced the inclusion of premium contributions due to reinstatements on the first page of the report. This enhancement allows BriteCore clients to add the four premium classifications on that page, resulting in a comprehensive total written premium.
To maintain consistency in definition, these same premium classifications have also been added to the Agency Principal Dashboard. This enables users to easily see matching numbers across all presentations. (BC-14765)
Prevent Endorsements Beyond the End of the Current Term
BriteCore has added a check to prevent agents from creating a renewal revision on the policy term’s expiration date, as that would effectively be creating a renewal. More generally, this release adds a check to ensure that no new revision can be created by agents on or past the last day of the current policy term. (BC-14298)
Installments Preview in Quote Wizard Billing Step
This enhancement aims to provide agents with the capability to view installment previews directly on the billing step of the quote wizard. A table can be added to the billing page, displaying a preview of installments corresponding to the selected payment plan. The visibility of this table will be determined by the "Show installments preview" setting in the quote wizard settings, giving agents control over whether or not they want to view this information during the quoting process (BC-133255).
Defects
Addressing Inconsistencies in Item Evaluation during Renewal Revisions
Switching an item from non-fee to fee status upon a renewal revision preserves the item's previously rated annual premium and written premium. This inconsistency causes downstream issues in account receivable evaluation and presents a data discrepancy. To resolve this inconsistency, adjustments in the rating engine were necessary. Specifically, when setting evaluations (premium or fee), the other evaluation (fee or premium) is now zeroed out. (BC-14422)
Addressing Persistent Builder Discrepancies
A gap was identified in our renewal processing flow, particularly when a policy renews into a newer Line Effective Dates (LED) results in an active Persistent Builder. While most steps proceed as usual, this scenario disrupts the execution of underwriting rules, crucial for certain configurations affecting inflation guard logic. Presently, Underwriting Rules (UWR) bypass processing when Persistent Builder is active, leading to discrepancies. To address this, logic adjustments ensure UWRs run once, targeting builder items under the new policy type, regardless of their persist status, enhancing renewal processing consistency. (BC-14776)
