Release Date: May 2021
The used_in_rating property is now included in both minimal and full risk type states for each field and can be useful for downstream services such as BriteQuote.
Example: BriteQuote could use the used_in_rating property to decide when a quote must be re-rated.
Note: Currently, BriteQuote doesn't accept the used-in-rating property, but we're working on it.
Changes
Before the change: BriteCore forces a quote to be treated when non-rate-bearing fields, such as Email Address and Phone Number, are updated. Each field carries the information on whether or not it's used in rating, but that information isn't exposed in the risk type states.
After the change: Based on the field.used_in_rating property found in the risk type states, any BriteLines API consumer will be able to determine whether or not a change made to a risk requires rerating.
Example: A service such as BriteQuote can consume the used_in_rating property to decide whether to re-rate the risk state when the user makes a change to a quote.
Note: Currently, BriteQuote doesn't accept the used-in-rating property, but we're working on it.
