Building Code Effectiveness Grading (BCEGS) emphasizes building code requirements designed to mitigate losses from natural hazards. BCEGS develops a relative Building Code Effectiveness Classification (or grade) for each community for insurance rating and underwriting purposes.
When the BCEGS is enabled, the location address interface will ask to collect the construction year to communicate with ISO. This determines a Protection Class and BCEGS value for clients.
Enable advanced settings
ISO provides a BCEGS rating that auto-populates from the property address. To increase rating speed, this integration provides an automatic assessment of the building codes that are in effect in a particular community and shows how the community enforces its building codes, emphasizing the mitigation of losses from natural hazards.
