The catastrophes-location-field advanced setting allows BriteCore users to enable a Location field during Catastrophe (CAT) event creation. This feature enhances CAT event accuracy by allowing geographic tagging based on State, County, and ZIP Code.
When enabled, claims adjusters can use this data for:
- Manual filtering of CAT events during assignment.
- Automatic CAT assignment is possible if the allow-CAT-auto-assign advanced setting is also enabled.
By default, this feature is disabled (False), meaning the Location field is hidden.
User Experience
When the Location Field is Enabled
- A Location field appears during CAT event creation.
- Adjusters can assign relevant State, County, and ZIP Code data to CAT events.
Manual CAT Assignment in Claims
- When adding a CAT event to a claim, BriteCore filters the available events by the claim’s location.
- Adjusters choose from this filtered list to assign the appropriate CAT.
Automatic CAT Assignment (if enabled)
-
If the allow-CAT-auto-assign advanced setting is True:
- The system compares the claim’s location with active CAT event parameters.
- Matching CAT events are automatically assigned.
- A notification pop-up confirms the assignment when viewing the claim.
