Policy Number – BriteCore Support

Column

Purpose

The Policy Number column allows users to sort the policy list by policy number in ascending order and descending order.

Location

The Policy Number column appears on the policy list table in the Policies search screen.

Field default

By default, the policy list is arranged by the date the policies are initially added to BriteCore, in reverse chronological order.

Change the default

Select the Policy Number column once to sort by policy number in ascending order. Policy numbers that include letters in the first space(s) of the policy number will sort alphabetically. Policy numbers that don't include letters will sort numerically based upon the last digit(s) of the policy number. Policy numbers that don't include letters will appear before policy numbers that include letters.

Select the Policy Number column a second time to sort the policy list by policy number in descending order. Policy numbers that include letters in the first space(s) of the policy number will sort in descending alphabetical order. Policy numbers that don't include letters will sort in descending numerical order based upon the last digits(s) of the policy number. Policy numbers that don't include letters will appear after policy numbers that include letters.

Select the Policy Number column a third time to return the policy list to its original state.

Usage considerations

The Policy Number column can't be customized, and the field behaves the same in both the Provider Administrator and Agent portals. The advanced setting enable-new-policy-search must be set to True to sort by Policy Number. If the policy list is sorted by another column, select the Policy Number column to override the arrangement of the policy list and sort by policy number.
